    Special Terms for Wedding Cakes

  1. If you require the set up of your cake, then we will aim to do this as close to the event start time as possible.
  2. After delivery or collection, please ensure that your cake is kept out of sunlight and at room temperature. Cakes with sugarpaste or sugar flowers/models should not be put in a refrigerator.
  3. If delivery and setup are required then the resulting cost will be included in your cake quote.
  4. All wedding cakes are supplied on a standard cake drum (size according to cake size) unless otherwise specified.
  5. If you wish for your wedding cake to be decorated with fresh flowers, then it is best for your florist to supply these.
  6. Please note that some flowers are not suitable for use as a cake decoration. Ask your florist for details and advice on the toxicity.
  7. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that a suitable table is provided for the cake to be displayed.
  8. A 25% non-refundable booking fee is required to confirm your order and save your date.
  9. We accept payment by bank transfer, details of which will be provided upon booking.
  10. The outstanding balance is due no later than one week before delivery.
  11. Payment / Booking fee

  12. A booking fee of £10 or 10% (whichever is greater) of the total value of your purchase will be required to secure your order and requested date. This will be deducted from your final invoice.
  13. Payment methods accepted are Cash, Bank Transfer or PayPal.
  14. The final invoice must be paid 24 hours prior to collection if paying via PayPal or Bank Transfer, or alternatively upon collection if paying by cash.
  15. Your cake will not be released until any remaining balance due has been paid.
  16. All prices are non-negotiable and are priced accordingly to your specified design and sizing request.
  17. Your Right to Cancel

  18. In the unfortunate event that you have to cancel your order please note that cancellations are subject to the following terms, conditions and are at the discretion of Cakesie:
    1. All booking fees are non-refundable.
    2. If cancellation is made within less than 72 hours of the agreed collection date I reserve the right to seek 100% of the order value for time and materials.
    3. If you wish to cancel your order please contact Cakesie ASAP by email at sales@cakesie.uk stating you wish to cancel, your cancellation will then take place from the date and time your email is received.
    4. If you wish to postpone your collection, and therefore the creation of your cake to a later date, then I will endeavour to accommodate your request, providing that I have availability for your revised date. Otherwise it will be treated as a cancellation and be subject to the terms as stated above.
    5. I reserve the right to refuse any order.

    Designing your cake

  19. Your cake will be created as specified. You are responsible to thoroughly read and check the details of your design and the quote provided before making your booking fee payment.
  20. All cakes are bespoke and handmade. I will do my very best to create your selected design as closely as I can. However on occasions a design may have to be adjusted slightly in the interest of structural stability or aesthetics. The customer will be informed of this before any amendments are carried out.
  21. If you need to make any alterations they must be submitted by email to sales@cakesie.uk at least two weeks prior to the supply date.
  22. Any changes to the original agreed design will be charged accordingly, Cakesie reserves the right to increase the final fee as a result of any alterations. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate your wishes, please note late changes cannot always be guaranteed.
  23. Collection

  24. Please ensure you arrive to collect your cake at the pre-arranged time/date. If you feel you are going to be later than arranged, then please contact me as soon as possible.
  25. Upon collection of your cake you will be asked if you are happy with your product. By taking your cake from my premises, you confirm you are happy with it’s condition and final overall presentation.
  26. You are advised that when transporting your cake it should be kept in the box provided and on a flat, clean surface .i.e. An empty footwell or cleared boot of the vehicle thus ensuring there is nothing that can make contact with the cake box during transit.
  27. The cake box should not be placed on a car seat!
  28. When carrying and moving your boxed cake, please ensure that it is lifted from underneath the box and not the sides.
  29. Please keep your cake out of direct sunlight and on hotter days please ensure your vehicle is as cool as possible for transportation of your cake prior to collecting it.
  30. Cakesie is not liable for damage due to client handling once the cake has been picked up or delivered. If your cake is damaged once it is in your possession, the damage will be assessed and, if circumstances allow, fixing of the cake may be offered to you. If I have to travel to you to repair your cake, mileage fees will be applied.
  31. In addition, further costs may be incurred depending on the severity of the damage to the cake.
  32. Allergies

  33. Whilst every effort is made to create “Free from” cakes, customers should be aware that as Cakesie is run from a domestic kitchen traces of egg, soya, dairy, gluten and nuts may be present in my bakes.
  34. Clients are responsible for notifying Cakesie of any dietary requirements prior to placing an order.
  35. No responsibility will be taken by Cakesie for any allergic reactions after advice has been supplied. You agree to notify any of your guests of any allergen risks.
  36. Non-edible Items

  37. Many cakes will contain a small amount of food safe non-edible items (such as, but not limited to: support dowels in tiered cakes, ribbon, cocktail sticks, etc.) you will be advised about the placement of such items but it is your responsibility to ensure these items are removed by yourselves / caterer / guests before consumption.
  38. Cakesie will only use flowers that are non-toxic. These will have been laid/inserted into the cake with protectively wrapped stems/ posy picks/ straws. All flowers should be handled with care and removed before serving.
  39. Disputes

  40. All sales are final, in the unlikely event that you are dissatisfied with your cake, Cakesie must be notified via email at sales@cakesie.uk, within 24hrs of collection.
  41. No refund will be given for any cake that has been fully consumed regardless of the dispute. Full consumption of the cake will be viewed as your acceptance that the cake was fit for purpose.
  42. Any cake unfit for use or inedible will need to be returned to my premises for examination.
  43. Social Media

  44. Cakesie reserves the right to use photographs and customer feedback of any cakes made for advertising purposes, marketing or promotion. This will include social media for example Facebook and Instagram. Pictures will not be published until after your celebration date so as not to spoil your big reveal.
